before we went to the anchor bar, we all went to chuck'e'cheese for the kids.

for halloween me and cosmo dressed up as margot and richie tenenbaum from the movie the royal tenenbaums and richard went as where's waldo. i think by the end of the night richard was about to kill the next drunk girl that walked up to him and said "oh my gosh! waldo! i totally found you!!" however, i was amused.

i think cosmo's was spot on... mine on the other hand....could have used some work....

and i learned that i am not a good blonde.

one authentic part of my costume was cosmo made me a wood finger since she has one in the movie. i think he did a pretty good job!

this is it.

while we were in toronto canada, cosmo said we needed to stop somewhere real fast. we parked and walked up the street to a little park. as we started to get closer to an old statue in the middle of the park, cosmo started talking: "so... i was looking on a peter pan site and it talked about 7 statues that were made from the same cast and j.m. barrie (the guy who wrote peter pan) signed them all and they were placed around the world. the rest are over in europe and such, but one is here in toronto. i got closer and looked up to see this:

i squealed like a little kid and jumped up and down and few times and then repeatedly kissed cosmo and told him how awesome he is. i couldnt stop smiling. i am IN LOVE with peter pan. he's my hero and is the spirit of everything i want. i plan to stay young at heart forever.

the pictures cant really do it justice. it is very detailed and there are little creatures and critters and fairies carved all over it.

it was seriously the best part of the trip. i'm smiling just thinking of it now.

why didnt the united states think of this first?!

this is what canadians call a kinder egg. its a chocolate egg with a surprise inside. you cant get much more fun then that!

**UPDATE: i was just informed by my loving husband that kinder eggs are from germany, they just sell them in canada. kinder means "the child" or "kid" or something like that in german. i stand corrected.**

family home hauntings

tonight for family home evening we had a blast and took a little twist on the infamous christmas gingerbread house and made haunted halloween houses to celebrate the greatest holiday ever.

before we started we needed to fuel ourselves with some dinner. we ate mummies to get the creative juices flowing

the final masterpieces:
jenn and cosmo's haunted mansion (and no thats not a snow man above the door, its a ghost! booo)

erika, angela, and julia's haunted creation... this was rebuilt and demolished several times due to differences in the creative process.
julia was quite proud of her dead guy on the right.

we went to the monastery and the boys played a game of sand volleyball and the girls watched. ....it hurts my arms..... wah.

happy birthday garrett

today is my nephew garrett's 4th birthday!

he is the smartest raddest kid i know, and i'm not just being bias, he really is :)

garrett is always quick to give hugs and kisses! i'll take as many as i can get!
he has so much life and character to him!
he's always good for a laugh and he will tell you himself that he is funny!

we are rockstars!

i can only hope that my kids will be as awesome as garrett!
(i think alot of that has to do with the awesome parenting super skills of his parents...)
